Final Website Migrated, Plugins and Code Snippet Choices - Publishing Task 3

Site Migration:

When it came to moving my site, I used an plugin known as All-in-One WP Migration, as I found it to be a quick and hassle free method of exporting my site. This plugin allowed me to download the site I created through the localhost. After which I went onto Infinity Free, and created a domain for the site.

After getting the verification for the site approved, I downloaded Softaculous to download a plugin on Infinity Free that allowed me to upload my downloaded file of the localhost. A difficulty I encountered was my file size being over the max amount for creating a free site. The only solution I had was to lower the size of the export by removing some plugins. Luckily I was able to achieve that and upload the file under the maxium file size. I did this as I had no option to pay for the subscription.

Plugins/Code Snippets/Theme:

For my site I implemented a theme known as Twenty Fourteen. I chose it as I felt it captured the simplicity of review sites. I installed Rate My Post that allowed for me to include a rating system on my site.

AMP was installed to help create a smoother website experience. WP Fastest Cache was downloaded to allow for faster load times on media included on the site. Anti-Spam was included to prevent repetitive abuse of the rating system. Anti-Malware was also added to help protect site visitors. For Code Snippets I included a minimum word count for posts to guarantee there’s informative information for reviews. Disable comments was added to remove all commenting from the site. Another snippet results in any featured images automatically linking to their post. As well I allowed for the inclusion of SVG files. All post names when clicked, bring user to the post.
